Boundary Artefact Reduction Using Odd Tile Length and the Low Pass First Convention (OTLPF)
نویسندگان
چکیده
It is well known that tile boundary artefacts occur in lossy wavelet-based image coding [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The base model of the JPEG2000 standard (ie JPEG2000 Part I) suffers from these artefacts, being a wavelet-based coding system. This paper analyses the tile boundary problems of JPEG2000 Part I and presents a novel method for reducing these tile boundary artefacts. This method has recently been adopted as part of the JPEG 2000 Verification Model 9.0 and as an addition to Part II of the JPEG2000 standard.

Tile Boundary Artifacts Reduction of JPEG2000 Compressed Images
This paper proposes a post-processing technique for reducing tile boundary artifacts which occur in an image when it is compressed at low bit rate using JPEG2000 standard. Symmetric extension and difference in quantization accuracy between the tiles of the image are the main factors behind the tile boundary artifacts in JPEG2000 compressed images. In this paper, we have analyzed the effect of q...
متن کاملTetromino tilings and the Tutte polynomial
We consider tiling rectangles of size 4m × 4n by T-shaped tetrominoes. Each tile is assigned a weight that depends on its orientation and position on the lattice. For a particular choice of the weights, the generating function of tilings is shown to be the evaluation of the multivariate Tutte polynomial ZG(Q,v) (known also to physicists as the partition function of the Q-state Potts model) on a...
متن کاملReducing the Gradient Artefact in Simultaneous EEG-fMRI by altering the Subject’s Axial Position
Large artefacts which compromise EEG data quality are generated when electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) are carried out concurrently. The gradient artefact produced by the time-varying magnetic field gradients is the largest of these artefacts. Although average artefact correction (AAS) and related techniques can remove the majority of this artefact, t...

متن کاملDesign and Analysis of Ultra-wide Band Bandpass Filter Using Spiral Stub-Loaded Triple-Mode Resonator with a Notched Band
An ultra-wide band band-pass filter using novel spiral stub-loaded triple-mode resonator (SSLTMR) is presented. New spiral stub loaded resonator is analyzed with odd and even modes analysis for this class of BPF, achieving higher band wide and size reduction. In order to have a good response characterized, two (SSL-TMRs) and two quarter wavelength digital coupled lines are used. This new design...
